Nowadays, developers are faced with a bewildering array of technologies for developing Web services. This paper discusses the most important industry standards that are becoming available for developers to build interoperable services and composite applications including JAX-WS, BPEL, WS-ReliableMessaging, WS-Addressing, SOAP with Attachments, MTOM, WS-Policy, UDDI, WS-Security, and Service Component Architecture.
