BEA Systems Inc, a global application infrastructure software company, today announced the expansion of its Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) capabilities and service offerings by making available a web-based tool.

Addressing a press conference here, BEA Director of Technology Michael Smith said the web-based tool was designed to quantitatively measure and benchmark a company's baseline for pursuing SOA as its IT strategy. Called 'The BEA Service-Oriented Architecture readiness self assessment,' the web-based tool reflected the BEA-SOA practice methodology and was designed to provide IT maturity comparisons against similar companies within key domains, he added.
