Service-oriented architectures (SOAs) have become mainstream and the need for a solid SOA infrastructure is widely accepted, according to Sonic Software Chief Technology Officer Gordon Van Huizen. In this month's CTO Insight, Van Huizen offers that the "tire-kicking" is over and organizations are embracing the enterprise service bus (ESB) as a long-term foundation for their enterprise SOA.
Van Huizen writes, "Technologists want to go to the next level of detail on how the ESB can fit into their projects. They want to 'test for echo' in order to verify that the perceived benefits can be realized in their business and IT environments...we've truly shifted into the next gear."
