Managed Methods enhances policy enforcement with JaxView 3.7.

Managed Methods Inc. today announced the availability of their SOA management and runtime governance product JaxView 3.7. While providing full support for the SOA and Web service management for the IT operations, JaxView 3.7 expanded runtime policy enforcement features around creation of Service Policy Profiles.

Architects, developers and IT operations managers working with Web services in production need visibility into the operation and performance of XML-based services. Managed Methods offers a wide variety of functionality and installation options at a cost effective price. Security and policy enforcement is an important piece to ensuring the management of your SOA environment to prevent leaks of data or intrusion. JaxView offers robust security and policy enforcement features, that enable customers of any size, a greater return on investment when deploying an SOA.

JaxView 3.7 Policies include

- Authentication and authorization policies

- Message transport policies such as XML encryption or digital Signatures

- Routing polices including exception based routing

- SLA policies

- Schema compliance and modification policies

- Protocol conversion policies

- Throttling policies

“We are looking at the direction of SOA management and we’ve added features around policy profiles where a single service can be assigned multiple policy profiles for enforcement at runtime.” states Al Aghili Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Managed Methods Inc.

“This architecture will allow JaxView to enforce different policies, such as authentication and routing, based on the client initiating the request. Therefore, allowing a different set of policies for different types of clients. As an example internal clients of a Web service would need to abide by different authorization polices than the external clients. This could be accomplished by creating a set of policy profiles for internal clients of the Web service and then creating separate profiles for the external clients. ” states Aghili.
