UC4 Software Introduces New Version of Leading Data Center Automation Tool

UC4:global 6.0 offers greater flexibility and ease of use for complex IT environments.

UC4 Software today announced the general availability of UC4:global 6.0, the latest version of its enterprise job scheduling and data center automation solution. UC4:global 6.0 contains significant performance and design enhancements, including powerful workload management capabilities to maximize resource utilization and processing throughput, and refinements to the graphical interface to improve usability, process visibility and control.

“We see IT process automation as a foundational step in allowing our customers to gain control of the IT systems and applications that support their business,” said Vincent Stueger, vice president of product management for UC4 Software. “Many of the new features and functions delivered in UC4:global 6.0 were developed as a direct result of the close relationships we have with our install base and strategic business partners. We are proud to release a product that will support our customers’ future business success.”

Supporting an extensive range of operating platforms and business applications, UC4:global is a unified IT process automation solution that allows IT organizations to quickly migrate workloads from more expensive and less user-friendly schedulers and/or consolidate multiple existing job schedulers. Additional UC4:global 6.0 enhancements include grouping of data center assets to manage as virtual resources, greater functionality for SAP systems and IBM z/OS environments, extended platform support, LDAP security and improved audit and reporting functionality.

The evolving data center environment is increasingly complex, demanding new functionality and performance to deliver end-to-end IT process automation. UC4 Software’s research and development teams continue to innovate in a mature market by working closely with leading organizations to understand and meet their changing business needs. As a result, UC4:global supports messaging middleware such as JMS and WebSphereMQ, automates workload execution across virtualization technologies like VMWare, handles scheduling of web services and integrates with leading systems management tools like HP OpenView.

“Many data center automation tools promise flexibility and enterprise-wide control but can’t deliver,” said Stueger. “UC4 Software is dedicated to IT process automation and optimization and will continue to develop business solutions that transform IT from a business expense into a business asset.”
