JaxView 3.3 more options for securing Web services

Securing Web services can be one of the main obstacles to SOA implementation. With JaxView 3.3, you now have more options to implement and manage security for Web services. By deploying JaxView as an XML gateway, you can move client authentication and other security tasks out of business service code to the services gateway

Managed Methods Inc. (www.managedmethods.com ) today announced addition of more security features in JaxView.

Securing Web services can be one of the main obstacles to SOA implementation. With JaxView 3.3, you now have more options to implement and manage security for Web services. By deploying JaxView as an XML gateway, you can move client authentication and other security tasks out of business service code to the services gateway. This reduces time in implementing and managing Web services and improves flexibility in SOA component reuse. JaxView offers the following options for centralized SOA security management:

  • Basic HTTP authentication
  • Use of X.509 certificates (SSL/TLS) for client side and server side certificates.
  • Client authentication using directory services (LDAP)
  • Validation of XML digital signatures
  • Automatic enforcement of WS-SecurityPolicy expressions and bi-directional integration with UDDI registries.
  • Encryption and Decryption of SOAP messages
  • Validation of WS-Security headers
  • Integration with external Secure Token Services (STS) using WS-Trust, WS-SecureConversation or any other proprietary standards.

JaxView provides a cost-effective way for small and mid-sized companies to implement security for Web services and increase the flexibility and manageability of service-oriented architectures. You can download a trial copy of JaxView at http://www.managedmethods.com
