Covestic is looking for a Senior Architect to guide the transformation of a major mainframe application (thousands of users and millions of lines of code) to a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based application. The successful candidate will work with a large Covestic team to deliver a detailed architecture recommendation and phased implementation roadmap for the replacement of the legacy application.
Responsibilities of the Senior SOA Architect include:
- Validation of the clients technical architecture and direction. This includes validation of development environment, operating system, database technology BPM (BPMS) vendor, and rules engine. - Working closely with the Covestic Business Process Analysts to determine the building blocks/services required to support the client business processes. - Recommend sequencing and timeline for the decommissioning of the legacy application. - Work with Covestic team to develop a detailed implementation plan for the phased replacement of the legacy application. - Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture
Experience - External: Required Experience - Understanding of architectural disciplines, processes and concepts - Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, to both technical and non-technical audiences - Experience as the Lead Architect for designing and developing architectures for large, complex and mission critical business applications - Service Oriented Architecture experience (SOA) - Enterprise Application Integration - Web Services: SOAP, XML, WSDL - Mainframe experience or familiarity is required - Experience with Microsoft Operations & Development Environments (.Net), Windows/Vista and SQL Server
Preferred Skills - Experience with BPMS platforms (FileNet P8, Appian, Lombardi, etc) - Experience with claims management and billing applications
Education & Experience - BS/MS in Computer Science preferred - 10+ years of related technology experience
