SOA design for an application

I am working on creating architecture for B2B applciation. The traditional way of creating application design that I have used is to identify the layers i.e. db layer, DAO layer, business objects layer and presentation layer. After that I do further elaboration of each layer functionality.

I want to design the new application as per SOA standards. Is there any guidelines on how I can start thinking about the application design. I am thinking to go by traditional approach but lay more stress on services identification, scalability and configurability.
